White Tara Retreat
- November 18 - 24, 2004
White Tara was the
main deity practice of many well known Buddhist scholars and siddha in India who
referred to it as "the one that embodies all", meaning that "doing one
accomplishes all". This practice fulfills
one's wishes and increases one's life span.
The purpose of our
retreat is to pray for the long life and good health of all good religious leaders and
rulers, all the Karma Kagyu masters especially the Venerable Thrangu Rinpoche and to
celebrate his birthday.

Note:
Jinsek is puja done
at the end of a practice. There are substances
offered into the fire to the 3 jewels and 4 guests. Twenty-five
to thirty different kinds of substances are offered. For
example, by offering black sesame, our negativities will be purified; by offering the
three sweets and three whites, we gain intelligence and wisdom; by offering some other
substances, we pray that all obstacles to Dharma practice and all suffering disappear and
be utterly pacified, that we receive good health and wealth, etc etc. Therefore, it is
exceptionally good to sponsor the offering of substances.
