Answers How often may I
use the plan benefits?
As often as you like, as long as you have a paid
membership. In the case of a Basic Personal Will, you and your Spouse are each entitled to
the preparation of a will with yearly review and updates.
Will it be difficult to contact a
lawyer?
No, when you call, you will automatically be
assigned a Private Lawyer to obtain legal advice or answer any personal legal question you
may have.
How often may I speak to a lawyer?
You are entitled to an unlimited number of
consultations by phone. Feel free to call the toll-free number on your membership card to
speak with your Private Lawyer as often as desired.
When I call my Private Lawyer, am I
limited in the amount of time I can take to discuss my personal legal matter with him or
her?
Discussions can last as long as it takes to
describe the reason you called and for your lawyer to provide advice.
Can I be sure that my lawyer is
qualified to advise me?
The Private Lawyers who advise you by phone are
lawyers called to the Bar throughout Canada who are retained by LegalSense.
Can other family Members use
the services included in my LegalSense membership?
You, your Spouse and your Children are covered by the
Plan. However, neither your Spouse nor your Children can use the services of LegalSense
against you.
What happens if my Private Lawyer
does not feel he or she can adequately handle my question or issue?
Your lawyer may advise you to enlist the services
of a lawyer who can provide in the type of service you need. Simply contact the Customer
Service Centre for a Referral Lawyer in your area.
Will it be difficult to obtain a
Referral Lawyer?
No, just call our Customer Service Centre toll-free
at 1 877-400-6684, and they will refer you to a lawyer in your area who handles the type
of service you need. You may then contact that lawyer to set up an office consultation.
Can I meet a lawyer in person if I
prefer?
You may always contact the Customer Service Centre
and get a referral to a Referral Lawyer whom you may visit for an office consultation. The
first half hour is at no additional cost to you. Thereafter, your cost will be 25% off the
Referral Lawyers regular consultation fees. Discount does not apply to court costs,
provincial filing fees and other similar costs. Private Lawyers do not provide in-person
consultations.
May I cancel my membership at any
time?
Yes, and for any reason.
Will I have to worry about my
LegalSense membership expiring?
You will enjoy your membership benefits without
interruption, as long as the Plan is in effect and you pay the monthly membership fee. |
